Last month, through the generosity of our donors, Pancreatic Cancer Cure Foundation (PCCF) had the privilege and honor of presenting Fox Chase Cancer Center at Temple University Hospital check for $28,500.
Our partnership with Fox Chase Cancer Center just began in 2021 after meeting with the research team. Under the direction of research leader Edna Cukierman, Ph.D., the Institute’s vision is to establish a world-class research and clinical program to investigate the fundamental challenges of pancreatic cancer biology, which could lead to the discovery of breakthrough therapies. In fact, the collaboration between academic basic research and the clinic has rendered the development of two ongoing clinical trials testing hypotheses generated in the laboratory.
During our visit to Fox Chase Cancer Center, we learned from Dr. Janusz Franco-Barraza new discoveries being made at The Marvin and Concetta Greenberg Pancreatic Cancer Institute under the leadership of Dr. Edna Cukierman, and how these discoveries have an impact on the patients who are the ones really suffering from this disease.
