When my husband was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2012, we didn’t know what to do. First, we were in shock. The next emotion was sadness. Then suddenly there was fear. My husband had been a truck driver for over 30 years. He was the sole financial supporter of our family. He and I knew he would reach a point in his diagnosis when he’d no longer be able to provide for us. I had been out of the workforce for nearly a decade and our two children were not yet old enough to work. We found out about PCCF through some mutual friends and they helped in so many ways. From actual members bringing us meals to getting us set up for financial assistance, we truly would have been lost without them. My husband is gone now seven years and our kids are grown. But I will never forget the generosity and kindness we received from PCCF.
